How to start using the service?
All you have to do is go through the simple registration procedure at the www.care4teen.com/download website where you will be suggested to download and install the Care4Teen software for the type of device that you would like to control (PC or smartphone). Upon signing in to the website and the software using the data provided during the registration, all the features of the service will be accessible to you with a single click.
You can know what your child is doing on the Internet and view the phone call and SMS log?
To get the exhaustive information on your child's activities, you have to enter the My Child's Activity Reports section at the website, select the type of the device (PC, Android smartphone or iPhone) the history for which you would like to view, and the desired date. This section has the following subsections:
Dashboard: general information on how the device has been used, including short videos recorded from its screen;
- Sites: list of the visited websites;
- Started Applications: list of the started applications;
- Calls, SMS (for smartphones): phone call and SMS log.
The PC application has two safety profiles: Restricted and Unrestricted. When using the Restricted profile, the application restricts access to all the websites that you marked as unwanted and to the websites not included in the Care4Teen database. When using the Unrestricted profile, you have access to all websites, without any restrictions. At the same time, the application keeps on monitoring the user activities, and if any suspicious information is found on the visited websites, the application records and saves a ten-second video from the screen.
How do websites get to the "black list"?
Parents add websites to the black list by means of voting. If two parents voted for blocking a website and one parent voted for allowing access to it, the website will be automatically added to the black list.
You can add a website to the blocked/allowed list?
To do that, enter the visited websites section and press Block or Allow beside the required website. The numbers show how many parents have already voted for and against the website.
You can hide the application's Control Panel icon from the taskbar of the computer?
The application provides two modes of operation: visible and invisible. If you select the first one, the application's icon will be shown in the Windows taskbar and in the list of the running processes in the Task Manager. In the invisible mode the application does not show its presence. To enter the Control Panel of the application running in the invisible mode, you have to type "care4teenxxxx" where "XXXX" stands for the password of your account at the website.
