Outpost Security Suite combines antivirus and antispyware tools. Outpost has a feature called SmartDecision, a technology intended to increase proactive security, which is protection from emerging threats that do not have a known definition. SmartDecision scans executed applications, compares them to a database of known threats and removes all dangerous files. If an unknown file exhibits suspicious behavior, SmartDecision will display an alert and give you the choice to block the file or allow the application to run. If you encounter a suspicious file, you can submit the information to Agnitum engineers so they can evaluate it and possibly add it to their database. Outpost also scans for viruses deliverable via email attachments, USB-connected devices and scripts. Outpost Security Suite can provide real-time protection with many popular online applications, including browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera and Safari. Outpost also provides security for numerous email clients, chat applications and FTP sites. It also includes a powerful, configurable two-way firewall.
Like most security software, Outpost includes elements to protect your private information or files, your inbox from being inundated with spam and your system settings from being manipulated. It also has the ability to secure your passwords and login IDs to help protect your favorite sites from being hacked, such as Facebook or more critical sites such as your bank and financial sites. The content filtering tool provides parental controls.
